What is therapy?
Therapy is a process where you uncover the things that are causing you turmoil. You’ll work with a licensed professional to discover the thoughts, emotions & behaviors that are getting in your way.
Therapists have many different approaches & styles. Some therapists are gentle & passive, some are more in your face & directive. Some may be very woo-woo & spiritual and others may be more concrete & practical. Finding a good therapy fit is kinda like finding a good pair of comfortable shoes. You may feel more comfortable with certain styles, personalities or approaches & you have to try some on to make sure it fits.
I use different evidenced based therapy techniques depending on what you need. I believe that we are all doing the best that we can but sometimes we need to learn to do something different. I’m collaborative & solution focused. Some of how we react to life’s chaos & challenges are wired in us. It’s helped protect us in the past & helped us survive. But these reactions & thinking patterns are no longer working. We will explore the beliefs, thoughts & actions that are keeping us stuck. We will come up with a game plan to overcome these blocks so that you can reach your goal.
While it’s important to acknowledge & honor our pasts, our pasts does not dictate our future. We have the power to re-write our story & we have a say how our story continues.
Shouldn’t I just talk to my friends or family?
Let’s face it, our friends & family aren’t always as supportive as we would like or need them to be. It can be especially hard to talk to family or friends if we’re dealing with something that’s sensitive, embarrassing or shameful.
Therapy is a safe place where you can practice being both vulnerable & courageous. You can learn to ask for what you need or learn to set boundaries. It’s a no judgment zone. It’s a place where you have unending support, even when you feel like you are at your worst.
How & where will I meet with you?
eRemedy is an on-line therapy & consultation practice. Using your laptop or smart device, we’ll meet in a secure web-based platform through video. It’s kinda like Skype or FaceTime, but secure. The platform is HIPPA compliant so your information and your story stays private.
As long as you have access to internet we can meet from anywhere you feel comfortable.

What will my first appointment be like?
Before your first appointment I’ll send you a couple worksheets to fill out. This will help us take care of some of the administrative stuff without taking away from our session. During your first appointment we’ll talk about what current challenges you’re facing. We’ll talk about what motivated you to schedule an appointment & what kind of supports you may have.
We’ll also talk about what kind of change you’re wanting in your life & what you’re hoping to get out of our time together. We’ll set some actionable goals & set up an initial road map on how we are going to get there. And finally, we’ll set up a tentative plan for how often & for how long we should meet to address your goals.
Do you take insurance?
I currently am an in-network provider for Cigna and accept insurance as an out of network provider. Please check with your insurance company regarding your out of network benefits. In some circumstances, I may be able to work with you & your insurance company to obtain a single case agreement.
How do I pay for my appointment?
You will have access to make secure payments online through your client portal. I accept all major credit cards and HSA/HRA cards. Payment is due before the beginning of each session.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Your appointment times are reserved exclusively for you, so if your scheduled time does not work for you, please contact me directly at least 24 hours before the session start time to reschedule a service already purchased.
